4 years ago, I moved into these halls and this place that would fill my life with more beauty and joy than I could have imagined. That day, some seniors living three doors down showed me love and friendship & changed the trajectory of my college experience in an amazing way.

Today, 4,000 freshmen are moving into these halls, and I couldn’t be more excited to meet them, love them, and show them what made my years here at Kent so special: The Lord. #Take4 Kent State; here we go!

I liked a little thing I made up for the first day of class.

Partly inspired by the growth mindset posts that were going around #education last week, I was casting about for ways to introduce those ideas to some groups which didn’t make a whole lot of progress last…

This. Perfect.

faraashah:

westerners are obsessed with the idea of happiness as if it’s a constant state of being. happiness comes in moments. you dont “achieve” happiness. you experience it along with every other emotion on the spectrum. if you spend your life chasing this constructed idea of happiness you will never even be remotely content. work on being whole and feeling everything while increasing the happy moments. stop trying to be a “happy person.” just be a person.
